The company operates it’s own state of the art manufacturing facility located in Rosthern, Saskatchewan with extraordinary personal care, attention and control systems to ensure safe and nutritional products. Horizon talks about using high quality, safe products in our formulations, but so do many other companies.  What is it that makes Horizon truly different than the others?   There are a few quantifiable reasons why we are unique.

Our ingredient specifications are actually higher than for human food. Why? There is typically no mycotoxin or aflatoxin testing for human food but in our pet food manufacturing process, we conduct extensive safety controls to eliminate the risk of toxic ingredients.

As a strict practice, we also look for and source higher bushel weight and protein content in our grain ingredients.  Nothing is allowed in that has ever been treated with aluminum phosphide or has any sign of insect, parasite or bacterial infestation. Being located in Saskatchewan, we can be and are highly selective with respect to ingredients.  We have uncompromising standards and understand fully the responsibility of producing your pet’s food.   As pet guardians ourselves, wanting a product we can trust for the health of our own pets, we know that you can trust Horizon's quality and standards.
